Ever since her existence the Earth have seen the rise and fall of tyranny. It's almost impossible to fathom how often the Earth has drunken the blood of the feeble and helpless. Spilled at the whim of a simple command by men driven by an ancient evil hidden to human eyes. Is tyranny here to stay? It' has reared it's ugly, menacing head through men of old. Genghis Khan, Attila The Hun, Caligula, Nero, Tamerlane the Great. They were all infamous. Heart's colder than the Artic poles. One would even say they were from Hell itself. Time would fail to mention the tyrants of all time and their perilous infamy. Even unto our day. Yes, history has seen them come and see them go. It would take a millennium to account for the billions of lives that were cut off over the ages by these ambassadors of evil.
Today we live in a much more civilized world. It seems that we've finally have seen the end of ruthless campaigns of evil men determined to take over the entire world. Most of the modern world powers just won't stand for it. So we live safe in this reality. A reality that numbs our minds to what is frankly always present before us though we regard it not. We'll never see another King John, Herod the Great, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin or Benito Mussolini. Times like these have surely passed. So we like to think. Living our lives. Eyes wide shut as we muse about fantasies. Focused, totally unaware of an Evil that's lurking. Waiting for the right time to show himself. For the time when we're most vulnerable.
